Cheryl Gahrs

Dr. Gahrs is our new Associate Veterinarian that joined our team in February of 2022. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1987. Then in 1992, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Michigan State University, where she met Dr. Reynolds and her husband, Dr. Craig Freysinger. Her areas of interest are internal medicine, ophthalmology and dentistry. She worked in Lansing for ten years before buying a veterinary practice with her husband. They worked together for twenty years until they sold the business and he retired. Dr. Gahrs has served as a mentor and a professional advisor for the Bay Arenac ISD Career Center since its Health and Science wing was built in 2008. Throughout the year, her and Dr. Reynolds attend several continuing education seminars together. Dr. Gahrs and her husband have two sons. Their oldest, Clay, is an engineer in Florida. Their youngest, Cy, serves in the US Army as a military police officer and paratrooper. At home, Dr. Gahrs enjoys doing home projects with her husband and walking her two dogs, Chuck and Bauer.
